Propylene glycol Propylene glycol is a clear, colourless, almost odourless, hygroscopic liquid. It is a polyvalent alkanol and miscible with water and ethanol, but not with fatty oils. At high temperatures above 150 °C it is oxidation-sensitive. Propylene glycol is a chiral compound (stereo-centre at position C2) and mostly used as racemate.
